North County Times: County official accused of racism during board meeting
Riverside County's human-resources director was accused in the open session of Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting of discriminating against blacks when hiring new employes and showing favoritism to whites when granting promotions. The accusations were leveled against Human Resources Director Ron Komers by Debrah M. Freeman, a Riverside resident and employee-relations division manager within the county Human Resources Department. Freeman, who is black, read a four-page prepared statement detailing allegations during the oral communications period at the end of the morning board session.
