Many Belgian administrations played an active role in the Nazi’s persecution of Jews in Belgium during WWII, according to a new study by Belgian researchers. The Centre for Historical Research and Documentation on War and Contemporary Society (Ceges), a State scientific institution, released last week an interim report into the collaboration of Belgian institutions with the Nazis.
A team of researchers have been analysing evidence from Belgium’s archives to establish if the Belgian authorities were involved in the persecution and deportation of Jews during the German occupation.
