STLtoday - News - Banners with racial message greet highway motorists
At least 10 handmade banners promoting racism hung from St. Louis area interstate overpasses during rush hour Tuesday morning.
The banners, made from white sheets and spray paint, read "Preserve the White Race." At 7 a.m., commuters started dialing the Missouri Department of Transportation to complain. (...) Last week, Metro removed 50 ads on MetroLink trains paid for by National Alliance, one of the largest neo-Nazi groups in the country, according to watchdog groups. The organization was using the ads as a recruiting tool.
