Arutz Sheva - Upsurge of Neo-Nazism in Russia
As Russia commemorated the victory over Nazi Germany, Russian human rights activists denounced “an upsurge of racism, xenophobia, and neo-Nazism in the country,” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported.
At a news conference in Moscow on May 5, the activists called on Russians not to forget that the Soviet Union also repressed, deported, and massacred ethnic minorities. According to a report by the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights released at the news conference, half of the Russian population considers that foreigners in Russia have “too much power” and express readiness to support measures limiting the presence of nationals from former Soviet Central Asian countries.
