Arutz Sheva - Ukrainian Election Commission Asks to Ban Neo-Nazi Party

With an eye to the 2006 parliamentary elections, Ukraine's Central Election Commission has requested that the Ministry of Justice ban a neo-fascist party headed by a member of the Ukrainian parliament, according to a January 4 report by “Ukraine Daily.” The Freedom Party, headed by Oleg Tyagnybok, faces the possible ban because the commission found violations of an anti-incitement law in the party's official platform. His platform calls for citizens of Ukraine who are not ethnic Ukrainians to be stripped of their citizenship.
