The Saratov Regional Court sentenced five adolescents Monday to between five and 13 years in prison after they pleaded guilty to charges of murder in a race-related case, local prosecutors said. Last summer, the group of skinheads beat to death 39-year-old Dzhavad Sheikhov, from Daghestan, a Russian republic in the North Caucasus. One of the young men, Mikhail Krasnoshchyokov, said he had killed the man because he hated "black" people from the Caucasus, who had earlier beaten and ill-treated him.
