The murder of a judge’s family members has thrown a spotlight on violent US neo-Nazi groups, who experts say may have become an increasing menace following the arrest or death of their leaders.
The experts say the loss of the leaders of the white supremacist groups has created a potentially lethal environment where "lone wolves" turn racist rhetoric into action.
The murder in Chicago last week of the husband and mother of Federal Judge Joan Lefkow, whose life had been threatened by jailed neo-Nazi Matthew Hale, might be such a case, those monitoring the groups say.
