British military graves vandalised in France

Tombstones in a British military cemetery in northwestern France were vandalised last week, the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais has said. Forty-two tombstones were overturned, flowerbeds damaged, and the visitors' book burnt in the cemetery in the small village of Bailleul-Sire-Berthoud, near Arras, where 252 British soldiers and a German who died during World War One are buried. The veterans' minister, Hamlaoui Mekachera, said he was outraged and expressed his solidarity with the families of those interred in the cemetery. siehe auch: British military graves vandalised in France
