Former neo-Nazi denounces hate groups - The Laf - News
Fearing persecution neither from the crowd nor from his former white supremacists, on Tuesday, March 29, Tom Martinez boldly stood in front of a Colton Chapel audience as a former neo-Nazi. As the opening speaker for United Against Hate Week, Martinez used his experiences in hate groups to educate students about the very real occurrence of domestic terrorism.
Martinez began his presentation by explaining how and why his exit from the party occurred. In 1984, he was arrested by the Secret Service on the charge of passing counterfeit money, presumably produced by the neo-Nazi group, The Order. Although Martinez told the federal agents nothing, after his interrogation he began to learn disturbing truths about the violent sect. He learned of the group's responsibility for robberies, murders, and bombings. Martinez told the audience that as he became aware of The Order's crimes, he was motivated to return to the Secret Service to inform them about his knowledge.
