News Stories - Tracking neo-Nazi's in Tampa Bay Area
The images from looking at the Pasco County neo-Nazi compound can make one shudder. Local law enforcement officers were surprised at the boldness of swastika-bearing flags flying at high noon. Corporal Chad Chronister, Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office Criminal Intelligence Specialist:
“Not typical at all. The majority of them want to stay out of the spotlight.””
Which is why in the wake of the Thursdays murder, many are taking a closer look at the neo-Nazi groups scattered throughout the Bay Area. Corporal Chad Chronister:
“They’re very poorly organized.”
That may sound like good news, but Corporal Chad Chronister says many of these local neo-Nazis are trying to make their influence on-line, on sites like MySpace and Xanga. Corporal Chad Chronister:
“The age group that their targeting are so-linked to the internet, it’s the best way to get that information out.”
