Daily Herald - Members of white supremacist group sued for attack of Fox Lake teens

A black Fox Lake family filed a federal lawsuit Friday seeking monetary damages from a trio of white supremacist "skinheads" found guilty last year of a hate crime. The Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a public interest consortium of a few Chicago law firms, filed the suit on behalf of the Jimmy Gilmore-Phyllis Williams family against Shaun Derifield, 23, Harley Hermes, 21, and Michael Canlas, 18. The three were found guilty of a racially motivated attack against four black teenagers in August 2003. (...) The trio, all members of the white supremacist group "Lake County Skinheads," chased the Williams' teens and the fourth person while brandishing knives and screaming racial slurs, the suit contends.
