FJC: National Bolshevik Arrested in Connection With Attack on Ulyanovsk Jewish Center
ULYANOVSK, Russia (UCSJ)- A member of the National Bolshevik Party has been arrested in connection with last week's attack on a Jewish center in Ulyanovsk. Eight drunken youths stormed into the Ulyanovsk Jewish Center on April 22, 2004-two days after the 115th anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birth, traditionally a time of increased racist and anti-Semitic violence in Russia. Skinheads have attacked the center multiple times in recent years, and neo-Nazis have beaten several Jewish youths in the city. A top local police official later made a statement denying that skinhead gangs even exist in the city.
