Skinheads meet, no incident

The Saturday meeting of skinheads in the restaurant Gerbera took place without the police intervention, police commander Bohumil Condl said. The police were on patrol till one a.m., when the participants went home quietly, Condl said, adding that some 150 police had been on alert. Some 70 people, mostly from the Ceske Budejovice region, met in the restaurant, while the skinheads made up roughly one-third of them, the police said. At the meeting, they remembered two of their leaders who had tragically died. A local band played, but its lyrics were not racist, Condl said. (...) Critics say that the police have been largely passive at neo-Nazis parties and rallies. This happened at a concert of skinhead bands in Krtetice, South Bohemia, in September.
