Moscow Synagogue Attacker Sane, Faces Trial - NEWS - MOSNEWS.COM
The man who is accused of a knife-wielding attack on a central Moscow synagogue has been declared sane and will face trial, Moscow Prosecutor Alexander Zuyev quoted by RIA Novosti said Thursday.
The prosecutor said forensic psychiatrists had found that Alexander Koptsev, 20, who stabbed nine people in the synagogue on January 11, “was sane while committing the crime.” Zuyev also said the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office had completed its investigation into the attack on the synagogue and found that Koptsev had no accomplices.
“We already know that the defendant had no accomplices and acted alone,” Zuyev said, adding that links with extremist organizations, including skinheads, had not been established.
